Chino was built in ~1950s and is located in a residential area and the CO is well designed and landscaped to fit into the neighborhood with minimal impacts.

EDGEMONT

 

Edgemont was built in the 1950s to serve the Moreno Valley area.  The office was of strategic importance during the Cold War as it served as the CO for March Air Force Base and Western Strategic Command Headquarters.

Office originally constructed in the 1940s to serve the entire San Jacinto-Hemet Valley area.

HOMELAND

 

Office built by GTE in the late 70's to relieve Hemet and provide service to Homeland, Romoland and Winchester.

IDYLLWILD

 

Located in the San Jacinto Mountains, CO was built to relieve Hemet and provide service to the mountain resort communities of Idyllwild and Pine Cove.  Note the classic General Telephone signage still exists.

Murrieta:

A very quaint CO located in the heart of this old town.  Office is designed to fit into the local architecture of Western style buildings.  False windows and fake balconies adorn the exterior facade.

Original General Telephone Office.  Has microwave links to the various CO's in the mountain resort areas hence stylized tower.

SAN BERNARDINO "NORTON"

 

Norton was originally constructed to be a dedicated CO to the Norton Air Force Base during the 1950s.  This office played a crucial role during the cold war and provided normal and secured communications for the military.  When the base was decommissioned in the early 1990s, GTE continued operation of the CO to relive San Bernardino Main with growth to the east and to serve the new San Bernardino International Airport and Commerce Center.

SAN BERNARDINO " WATERMAN"

 

Newer CO built in early 1990s, to relieve San Bernardino Main and Loma Linda

SAN JACINTO

 

Built by General Telephone in the late 1950s to relieve Hemet.

SUN CITY

Sun City:

This CO built in the late 50's is located in the retirement community of Sun City.  Even the office is designed to look like the older style homes with decorated concrete brick, gravel "grass" and pine shrubs which is so reminiscent of the numerous trailer parks and retirement homes in the area.

 

 

SUNNYMEAD

 

Newer CO (1980s) to serve the eastern Moreno Valley area.

 

TEMECULA

 

A rather new CO located in an industrial park and designed just like the neighboring concrete tilt-up buildings.

TEMECULA "REDHAWK"

 

 

Another new addition to the growing southwestern Temecula area.  CO has nice exterior  features including metal design work and colorful facades.

 

VALLE VISTA

 

Office built by GTE in the 1970s to relieve Hemet and San Jacinto.
