The Central Coast region starts in the Santa Barbara area and follows the rugged coastline up to Big Sur. 

AT&T maintains a toll center in Santa Barbara but it is physically separate from the Tandem and located just next door.  This was because of AT&T policy not to collocate with independent telephone companies being they were a "Bell" company.
