These central offices are located in the mountain resorts of Southern California. The various towns and communities are located in the San Bernardino Mountains and are flocked by thousands of Angelinos each year. During the summer tourists enjoy the mild temperatures and various lakes in the region and during the winter the high elevation creates some of the only snow in Southern California for which skiers and snowboarders enjoy the numerous ski resorts. Most of these central offices still use microwave serves as a backup to cable and fiber optic connections to the Inland Empire.

CRESTLINE
|
Crestline is one of the larger COs in the area. Built amongst the towering pines, the office has a unique design with a glass enclosed stairwell. Another interesting feature of this office is the underground parking garage in bottom photo for storage of vehicles during the snowy winter months. |

RUNNING SPRINGS
|
Running Springs was one of the first central
offices along Highway 18 to provide telephone service to the area.
