OXNARD "MAIN"
|
Oxnard "Main" is the region tandem office for
the Verizon CO's in Ventura County. One of the first central offices
built in the region by Associated Telephone. GTE at one time had
"proprietary" microwave service connecting into the GTE southern California
network. The microwave system seems "dead" judging from the graffiti
on the horns. AT&T has a toll office just a block down the street and
can be seen in the lower photo behind the Verizon office. Old Exchanges: HUnter 3, 5 and 6. |
